Research has shown that smoking rates among Asian and Pacific Islander ( API ) men are much greater than the smoking rates of API women . As seen in the graphs above, rates of smoking are higher among Vietnamese adult males when compared to the total Vietnamese population. The percentage of Vietnamese males who have never smoked is much lower than the percentage of Vietnamese adults who have never smoked. U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
