Expectations and Requirements of Project Participants

In order to participate in VACAP, selected participants are expected to:

•  Recruit a recent college graduate to participate in the 11 months Non-Profit Fellowship. Fellowships are available for individuals who are undergraduate seniors, who have received a bachelor's degree within the last four (4) years, or plans on pursuing a bachelor's degree. The targeted age is 21-35, but can be based on a sliding scale depending on the applicant's qualification. The fellow selected by participating organization will need to be approved by NAVASA.

•  Provide a $4,000 cash match by the end of program (September 29, 2006). This cannot be an in-kind match. Federal funds cannot be used as a match. The match must come from an unrestricted source such as the organization's unrestricted fund, donations, contributions, corporations, and other fundraising activities.

•  Collaborate with NAVASA in acquiring matching funds from local foundations and other sources

•  Commence program activities upon receipt of award from NAVASA

•  Comply with all reporting procedures set forth by NAVASA and other proceedings required by law and mandated by CNCS regulations

Eligibility

Eligible applicants are organizations that meet the following criteria:

•  A non-profit agency approved by IRS under section 501c(3)

•  A service provider that has been in operation at least one year.
