Barnes & Noble considers requests for local and regional support from non-profit organizations in the communities they serve. Barnes and Noble support organizations that focus on literacy, the arts or education (K - 12). They assess the merit of each request on an individual basis.
The following criteria must be met:
- The non-profit organization must support literacy, the arts or education (K - 12).
- The organization must be in the community or communities where our stores are located and serve the greater good of the local community or region.
- A plan for promoting the program with Barnes & Noble should be included in the proposal. The organization must be willing to work with our local store or stores on in-store programming.
Who is ineligible: Since funding is limited, Barnes & Noble do not contribute to grant or scholarship programs, religious organizations, sports teams or events, political organizations, or medical and health-related causes.
Application process: All proposals must be submitted on the organization's letterhead and include the details of the project and its purpose, how the proceeds will be used, other sponsors and its tax identification number.
For local and regional donations and sponsorships, submit your proposal to the community relations manager or store manager at your local Barnes & Noble store. Stores can be located using the store finder on this site. The proposal will be reviewed to see if it meets the above criteria. A limited number of proposals will be forwarded to the district manager and regional community relations manager for approval. Please allow 60 days for a decision.
