On behalf of the National Alliance of Vietnamese American Service Agencies (NAVASA), I am pleased to announce NAVASA's 2005 National Conference. This year, the event will be located at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner on July 15 and 16, 2005. The 2005 National Conference will mark NAVASA's celebration of 10 years supporting Vietnamese nonprofit organizations across the United States.

This year's conference will focus on "Empowering a Community through Giving", in which NAVASA encourages an "everybody-gives philosophy". Whether you are from a corporation, foundation, federal agency, community, small business, or nonprofit, there are ways you can contribute to make the community, the nation, and the world a better place.

The two-day conference will feature training workshops targeting current and future nonprofit sector employees. It will conclude with a recognition banquet where three "past givers" will be recognized and ten "future social change philanthropists" will be acknowledged.

In reflection of this year's importance conference theme, NAVASA asks you to consider giving of your own resources. Your giving will enable NAVASA to bring forth 150 to 200 current and potential givers, many of whom have dedicated their entire life for a good cause in enriching lives of people in need. Your giving will inspire hundreds of current leaders of nonprofits and upcoming groups of leaders to give. Your giving will help promote change, and in some cases be the change, not charity, to an estimated audience of 600 at our recognition banquet. Your giving will allow NAVASA to educate hundreds of thousands through email, radio, Internet, and newspapers on the true spirit of giving, which is not limited to financial contribution but includes gifts of time, expertise, connections, and emotional and spiritual support.
