What is the treatment for hepatitis?

There are no treatments for hepatitis A, D, and E. Hepatitis B and C patients should be evaluated for liver disease yearly. Drugs are available for patients with chronic hepatitis B and C infections. All hepatitis patients should avoid alcohol, which can worsen and increase the risk for liver disease, and use condoms when having sex to prevent infecting others.
