Who does not need to get a Pap test? |
The only women who do not need to be tested are those over 65 who have had several Pap tests with normal results in recent years and have been told by their doctors that they can stop having Pap tests, and women who have had a hysterectomy to have their uterus removed. However, some women who have had this operation may still have a cervix and should still get Pap tests. A patient should always talk with a healthcare provider before deciding not to continue Pap tests. |
