How Does Breast Cancer Affect Vietnamese Women?

Breast cancer is a major health concern among Vietnamese women because of very low cancer screening rates . Breast cancer is the most common cancer among Vietnamese women (1). If breast cancer is detected early, before it has spread beyond the breast, the survival rate is more than 95%. Seventy seven percent (77%) of new cases occur in women 50 years of age and over. Eighty percent (80%) of women diagnosed with breast cancer have no family history of it (2) .
